Franklin County:
The population of Franklin County has continued to grow and expand over the past decade, and in 2010 the population reached 1.1 million people. The county is a namesake to American statesman, scientist and inventor, Benjamin Franklin, and the county’s seat is Columbus.
Ohio’s 15th District is home to many charming, historic communities throughout Franklin County, like Canal Winchester, Grove City, Upper Arlington, and Hilliard. Many of the county’s cities and small towns predate the opening of the Ohio & Erie Canal in the early 1800’s.
Also located in Franklin County is the downtown Columbus area, which is the seat of state government and home to a number of corporate headquarters, including: Nationwide Insurance, The Huntington National Bank, Battelle, and White Castle.
Stivers also represents the Arena District, a busy entertainment area in downtown Columbus offering dining, nightlife, events, and more. Local sports fans are also in luck, as the Blue Jackets and the Clippers are both located in the 15th District.
