Morgan County was established on December 29, 1817, and was named for Revolutionary War General, Daniel Morgan. The county seat is McConnelsville and the county has a population of 15,054.
The county is home to parts of both the Wayne National Forrest and the Burr Oak State Park. Morgan County is also home to one of Ohio’s last existing opera houses, the Twin City Opera House.
Some of the major employers in Morgan County include: ABC Manufacturing, Care Serve Inc., Hann Manufacturing, Kroger Co., MAHLE International, Finley Fire Equipment, and Morgan Local Schools.
