A bill introduced by Rep. Steve Stivers aimed at making it easier for veterans to use military jobs to find civilian jobs at home has passed the House of Representatives.
The bill would apply to veterans seeking state certifications or licenses for a state-tested nursing assistant, EMT, certified nursing assistant, registered nurse or commercial truck driver. It would require states to consider veterans’ past training when they are considering them for certification into those professions.
