    WASHINGTON, DC – Today, the Veterans Dog Training Therapy Act, sponsored by Congressman Steve Stivers (R – OH) and Congressman Tim Walz (D – MN), passed the House of Representatives as part of a larger veterans health services bill. This legislation would establish a therapeutic dog training and handling pilot program for veterans struggling with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Read more

    America is facing a number of challenges, both at home and abroad. We need to have a comprehensive strategy to defeat ISIS. We need tax reform and regulatory relief so our economy can grow. And we need the federal government to finally balance its budget. I had hoped the president would address some of these challenges during his final State of the Union Address. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. Though they didn’t get the attention they deserved in the president’s speech, I remain committed to finding solutions to these issues to make America safer and stronger. Read more

  • FFP New Hydro receives FERC licenses for Muskingum River hydropower projects

    FFP New Hydro LLC announced today the receipt of hydropower licenses from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for four projects located on the Muskingum River in Ohio. The four projects are expected to have a combined generating capacity of 15 megawatts (MW) from plants added to existing Lock and Dam facilities owned and operated by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. FFP New Hydro also has final license applications pending for two more projects on the Muskingum River. Read more
