WASHINGTON- The following statement can be attributed to Congressman Steve Stivers (R-OH) regarding the Obama Administration’s announcement of a deal with Iran:
“I need to read the terms of the agreement, but here are the four mandatory provisions I will be looking for:
“First, it must require Iran to dismantle its nuclear capacity. Second, we need anytime - anywhere inspection policies (including of military facilities). Third, sanctions must only be lifted with Iran’s demonstrated compliance. And fourth, this deal needs to keep Iran from achieving nuclear weapons for the next 20 years.
“Congress will have the final say and from my perspective, no deal is better than a bad deal.”
