The following statement can be attributed to Congressman Steve Stivers (R-OH) regarding Defense Secretary Ash Carter’s announcement that all military combat jobs will be opened up to women:
“I fully support Secretary Carter’s decision to allow combat jobs to be available to women,” Stivers said. “I have believed for a long time that there should be a combat standard and non-combat standard for physical readiness, rather than a standard based on gender.”
