The following may be attributed to Representative Steve Stivers (R-OH), regarding the anti-Semitic and hateful graffiti at Ohio University: 

“It is our responsibility to protect and respect the fundamental rights of all people in our local communities and our nation. The abhorrent actions that took place at Ohio University are inexcusable. I strongly condemn these acts of hatred, we cannot allow anti-Semitic and other hateful symbols to be displayed. As a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, I fought to uphold our First Amendment freedoms, which includes the freedom of religion, and I remain fully committed to supporting these fundamental rights.”
