U.S. Congressman Steve Stivers
Wounded Warrior Fellowship Position Opening in Lancaster Office

I am actively seeking a Veteran to fill a Veterans Caseworker position in my Lancaster District Office. As a Brigadier General myself, serving fellow veterans is one of my utmost priorities as a Member of Congress. I rely heavily on the caseworkers on our team to be creative problem solvers, compassionate and dedicated, all values that I know are instilled in those who wear the military uniform.

This position will provide the Wounded Warrior Fellow with unique experience and exposure to ultimately broaden their career opportunities. The primary duties for this Veterans/Military Caseworker will be to work with federal agencies, like the Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Defense, to facilitate and coordinate responses with constituents who are veterans, as well as act as the liaison between our office and various veterans’ organizations in the district.

All candidates must meet the following requirements in order to apply for the Wounded Warrior Fellowship:

  • honorably discharged;
  • released from active duty within the last five years;
  • pay grades at or below E-5 or O-3;
  • 20 percent or greater connected disability rating (Purple Heart recipients are exempt from the service connected disability rating requirement);
  • must not be in receipt of a 20-year or Temporary Early Retirement (TERA) retirement.

Interested applicants should email a resume, last DD 214 (Member 4) issued, and a Civil Service Preference Letter indicating 20 percent or greater service connected disability rating to housewoundedwarriors@mail.house.gov.

Questions about the caseworker role may also be directed to the Lancaster District Office at (740) 654-2654
