COMMEMORATING THE HEROISM AND SACRIFICES OF AMERICA’S VETERANS
On Friday, November 11, 2011, our country will come together and commemorate Veterans Day—a day dedicated each year to the heroism and selflessness of the men and women who have served in our military throughout our nation’s history. We enjoy unparalleled freedom and opportunity in this country, because brave Americans have dedicated their entire lives to building and preserving the United States as the greatest nation on earth. For over 25 years, I have had the privilege of witnessing firsthand that very courage and dedication in the Ohio Army National Guard, and I will be forever grateful to those men and women with whom I have served.
This week, I am inviting constituents to post a short comment or story about a veteran who has made a difference in their life on my Facebook page. I hope you will get online this week and post a story. Veterans Day is more than just a federal holiday—the practices of Veterans Day should be an American way of life that are carried out every day of the year.
Whether you give thanks through prayer, sharing stories and memories, or by speaking of your heartfelt appreciation while out in public, join me every day in remembering the bravery that our military men, women, and families have demonstrated—they have made many sacrifices to keep us all protected and free. I would like to thank all of our Veterans and current military members for their service to our country, and I assure you that my office is here to help with any issues you may have with the Veterans Administration or any other federal agency. You can call my office at 614-771-4968 for assistance.
